Born in Aramoko, Ekiti State, in 1951, Mama Abike was guided by the firm belief that **every person deserves the opportunity to learn**, whether through traditional schooling or vocational skills.

A Legacy of Empowerment Through Skill

Mama Abike's own journey defined this belief. After completing her elementary education, she entered the world of **tailoring** in 1967. Her business grew into a thriving enterprise in Lagos, where she mentored over **30 apprentices**. This act of selfless teaching—weaving not just fabrics but dreams—is the true inspiration for our scholarship programs.

Her entrepreneurial spirit extended beyond tailoring; she engaged in diverse ventures, trading across borders and working tirelessly to build a successful life for her family. Her boldness and industry are core examples of the self-sufficiency we aim to foster.
